2. They Are Hungry or Wants Something
Some cats purr at mealtime. British researchers studied the sounds that domestic cats make when they are hungry and when they are not thinking about food. The purring sounds are not the same.
When cats purr to eat, they combine their normal purring with an upset yelp or meow, similar to the cry of a newborn baby. Experts believe we are more likely to react to this sound. They found that people can tell the difference between purrs, even if they don’t own cats.
